Reindeer Sightings - A Little Bit of Humor - Who's Doin' What - About Jeff - His Music - The Industry
Born in Tacoma and raised till the age of 12 in Chehalis, WA, Jeff had a great childhood. Small town America was just as it should be - a great place to live and be a young boy.
His dad was a salesman and his mom worked for a Title Company and school was only a block away. Everything about those years was memorable to him. Little League baseball; catching frogs in the creek; Sunday matinees at the only theatre in town.
His mom served as President of the local Cancer Society and dad was active in Kiwanis and a local lodge.
Dad moved the family to California the summer of Jeff's 12th year and although they prepared the children well, it was still hard to leave such good friends and childhood sweethearts. Jeff had little difficulty adjusting compared to his brother who was then heading into his sophomore year. For him, everything about the "Valley" made him long to "go back home". Funny, but outside of leaving for college, he is one that stayed for all the years.
Jeff picked up his first guitar at a Key Club convention in San Diego. The strings were high off the fret but it did not deter him from playing his only three chords the entire trip home. (I'm sure there were some that were wishing he hadn't)
By the fall of '63 after graduation from high school Jeff joined a folk trio (The Westfield Singers) and by September he had auditioned and was chosen to be the featured vocalist on a daily television show in Bakersfield, CA. Although they only lasted some 6 weeks, the experience took the group to college campuses all over California and later lead to Jeff becoming the lead singer for a local band "The Addams Familie" which later won a 2 week engagement in Las Vegas after competing in a battle of the bands in Los Angeles.
In 1976, Jeff returned to southern California and joined a group called "Pleasant Company" for 2 years before hanging up his music career till 1996 when he was encouraged to release his first full album. Since then he has written and released 3 complete albums and 4 singles; written and recorded over 60 songs; had music in movies such as "Random Hearts" with Harrison Ford and been on the air in over 42 countries world wide.
Known as a smooth crooner and a well polished crafter of songs, Jeff now lives back in the Pacific Northwest where he belongs. Listen to his life through his music and enjoy...
