If you were a car you’d be a ’57 Chevy
If you were a holiday the 4th of July.
If you were a song “Sentimental Journey”
If you were a book “The Catcher in the Rye”
If you were a painting you’d be the Mona Lisa
If you were a city-Paris, France,
If you were a movie “Casablanca” baby,
If you were the Cha, Cha, Cha you’d be a dance.
Chorus:
So come dance with me (come dance with me), kind of Classicy (Classicy), (ooo…) the way Fred and Ginger used to dance.
Repeat.
If you were music you’d be a Chopin,
If you were a flower-a long stemmed rose.
If you were a poem-“A thing of beauty”
If you were a play “Anything Goes”.
If you were a voice, you’d be Streisand
If you were a sight, the Frisco Bay,
If you were a style, you’d be a classic,
You could be a sunset every day.

There’s Her Hand In the Dark
by Jeff Gustafson

Selfless humanity, her gift of love, a light for a broken heart.
Born for the children, and for everyone,
There’s her hand in the dark.
The flowers rained, for the lady, she’s still the princess for us all,
Full of compassion for everyone,
There’s her hand in the dark.
Interlude:
The silence heard, a smile to remember, why must she die to feel the love?
The untouchable, becoming touchable,
There’s her hand in the dark.

The Night We Didn’t Fall In Love
by Jeff Gustafson

I can’t remember past December
The night we didn’t fall in love.
There were no notions, no emotions,
The night we didn’t fall in love.
I don’t recall, anything at all
The night we didn’t fall in love.
It wasn’t you I fell into,
The night we didn’t fall in love.
Chorus:
There were no bangs, no angels sang
No sparklers in the sky.
You whispered in then out again
And left me all alone inside.
I didn’t know I’d care at all
The night we didn’t fall in love.
I couldn’t tell I’d be under your spell
The night we didn’t fall in love.

When I’m With You
by Jeff Gustafson

When I’m with you, I can’t begin to say just how much I love you.
When I’m with you, you make me feel like the world’s at my feet
And when, you take my hand I’m floating above the clouds
And I’m on the top of the world.
When I’m with you, I just want to shout out “I’m the luckiest man on this earth”
When I’m with you, things seem to be the way they were intended to be,
I’ll take my chances here with you any day
And everything sounds like,
Chorus:
One voice, we’re all in unison, one voice, we’re all in harmony, one voice, we’re singing together, one voice, everything sounds so good, one voice, I hear angels, one voice, the music is wonderful, one voice, the voices are wonderful, one voice, it sounds so good to me.
When I’m with you I hear the birds sing
And the sun never stops shining down.
When I’m with you I can be anything
The world is my stage and I know
I’ve got everything that I’ll ever need
And everything sounds like.

And I love the way you like to hold me
And make me feel like something special.

My god I love you
You’re all I’ve ever wanted,
I’ll never be without you, without you.
(Love Is You-2nd and 3d time through only)
I want to see you in the mornings
And give you love that’s for a lifetime
And share the things that make you happy
And be there when you need a shoulder.
Chorus:
You make every day a new day.
You send sadness on it’s way dear.
You give me things I want to treasure
And most of all I treasure you dear.

The Cream In My Coffee

Good morning Darling, you look so beautiful
What would I have done without you,
There’s nothing I can say today that’s too good for you.
I was up and I was sideways,
I was around the block a time or two
But when the dust finally settled
There was only one of you.
Chorus: You’re the cream in my coffee…you’re the melody in this tune.
You’re the sun in the morning…every moment’s a dream come true.
You’re the cream in my coffee…you’re the melody in this tune.
My love for you is deeper today than when I first met you.
I can’t forget you’ve always been there
Making life feel so complete.
The one that saved the memories
The one that was always there for me.
The precious moments, the bouquets of flowers,
Our family portraits, those songs sung for two,
Our quiet evenings, those golden sunsets
And, of course darling, there was always you.
That’s you…

When I see a smile on your face
it reminds me of what we use to do.
When I feel your soft, warm embrace
there’s only one thing I want from you.
Chorus:
You’ve got the stuff
That is made for the love
That I feel for you, yes you do.
And I can’t deny
That it gives me a high
When I think of you…oo
I don’t know where I’d be
if I hadn’t met up with you, yeah!
I’m glad you decided on me
and me on you, I really do.

You’ve got the stuff, you’ve got the stuff…

To: Mr. Sinatra
by Jeff Gustafson
© Copyright 1998 Jeff Gustafson. All rights reserved.
The stage is dark, the curtain is down,
The theater is empty as I look around.
The marquee says nothing, there’s a lock on the door,
The windows are gone now, there’s no wax on the floor.
The cob webs are forming-an army’s up there,
The silence is deafening, no stars to share.
No smell of the popcorn, not even a soda to drink,
Only the memories, that I didn’t see.
To Mr. Sinatra, from someone who never met you I wish I’d of seen you on the stage a time or two.
Hold on a minute, something is happening here.
I’m hearing some music, it’s coming from over there.
The curtain is rising, the spot light’s on the ground,
Where is it coming from, there was no one else around.
Someone is singing beautiful music in my ear,
Singing it his way making me feel what he cares.
The theater is full now, the excitement is every where,
I’m living their memories of the man who’s singing there.
Chorus: Interlude.
Repeat chorus and out.

That Stately Lady
by Jeff Gustafson

There’s a Stately Lady that I see walking alone
And I stroll up to her and tell her that I’m a Mr. Malone.
Well, that’s not quite the truth, you see, I’m just an average guy,
But this, this Stately Lady really seems to catch my eye.
Well, I tell her a story about my yacht and big car
Little does she know my yacht is a dingy stranded on a sand bar.
And that car I say is so fancy is no less than 10 years old
But that, that Stately Lady is making me crazy and I don’t know
Chorus:
What I’m saying (That Stately Lady)
To that woman (That Stately Lady)
She’s got me spinning around (That Stately Lady)
I don’t know what, what , what…
Well, I told her I was rich, the truth, I don’t have a dime.
I told her I just returned from Paris and points beyone the Seine.
I’m not sure that the Lady was buyin everything I said
But that, that Stately Lady was making me crazy in my head.

I see you fly in the air so high above with not a care.
You soar with ease through the sky free and wild.
Your wings are spread wide and far
And you glide just as you are
You seem so soft against the blue sun warmed sky.
You ride the breeze, you own the sky,
You touch the clouds when flying high.
You give such peace and calm the earth - no wonder why.
You never change, you never stray.
Your faith is strong in every way
Your gift to life is full of love - no wonder why.

Shady lanes, passenger trains, just whistlin dixie goin by.
Barefoot babies, yellow daisies, coverin the hillsides up high.
Mama’s are wavin’, papa’s are shavin’, Sonny’s got his finger in a pie.
Missy is merry, Sissy is staring at the boys out of the corner of her eye.
Chorus:
I see the pictures through the eyes of Mr. Rockwell
Life seems so simple through the eyes of Mr. Rockwell
An earlier time through the eyes of Mr. Rockwell
Every day, in every way.
Well there’s a weddin, and dogs for pettin,
And lover’s strollin down lover’s lane.
There’s little children, peekin thru fencin
To watch the big boys play a game.
Aunty is bakin, the cousins a shakin
Wrapped up like a mummy with the flu.
The doctor is sittin, on the beddin
With people peekin to see what he’ll do.

The Recipe for Love

A warm fire, music in the air,
Lovers alone, everywhere.
Holding hands like me and you,
A stroll on a beach with a breeze that’s cool.
I’ll whisper something sweet in your ear,
Gently move my fingers through your hair.
A box of chocolates and roses will do
They say baby, I love you.
Chorus:
You are the recipe for love, the key,
The sign, the signal just for me.
You are the recipe for love, the key,
Hey, hey, come here baby.
A moon lit night, stars up above,
The perfect mood for making love,
A tender thought from me to you,
A gentle kiss, a word or two.
A smile I sent to you across the room,
A compliment that you deserve,
My arms around you when you feel its right
Keeping you warm, baby, into the night

How Did This Just Happen?
by Jeff Gustafson
© Copyright 1999 Jeff Gustafson. All rights reserved.
By the way, when’d he call
what he say, after all?
Was he nice, was he shy?
Was it paradise when he looked into your eyes?
There are changes I can see in you, you smile more than you use to do
and when you walk into a room you light up every corner I wish that I could feel that way so happy and content each day complete and full of love and joy and how did this just happen?
By the way, when’d he call, what he say, after all?
Was he nice, was he shy? Was it paradise when he looked into your eyes?
I just can’t stand not knowing why you’ve started to really like this guy who’s come into your life like this and filled up every moment. I know he’s on your mind right now it’s clear to all of us and how, you’ve got our curiosity, and how did this just happen?

I Feel Your Thoughts in Mine
by Jeff Gustafson

Love can last for longer than life
sweet contented and you.
Smiles and kisses divine
warm embraces you do.
I feel your thoughts in mine, all the time
what could ever be more?
Once I’ve had you.
Love, love , love do you want to…(repeat 7 times)
Love takes only one day at a time
to blossom into a rose.
Every care has a home
and it knows where to go.
I feel your thoughts in mine, all the time
what could ever be more?
Once I’ve had you.
Love, love , love do you want to…

Mustang Maggie
by Jeff Gustafson

A four banger chassis with my pretty little lassie
movin down the highway.
A double cam hot rod with flames on her smooth bod…
grooving in the fast lane..
With mag wheels on her back end, slanted to the front end
truly a mean machine.
Silver rims and mud flaps, A rumble seat that folds back
definitely the road queen.
I keep my motor mamma moving, she’s the pride of what I’m doing
she’s sleek, she’s cool, she’s mean.
I buff her every morning, her candy apple body
she’s as pretty as she can be.
Well I know that she’s a classic, she’s a carburetor baby
she hums, she purrs, and she’s bad.
With the pedal to floor board she kicks it into high gear
what’s left behind is so sad.

Tonight’s The Cowboy’s Christmas
by Jeff Gustafson
© Copyright 1997 Jeff Gustafson. All rights reserved.
Tonight’s the Cowboy’s Christmas and there’s a story you don’t want to miss about the cowboy and his Christmas and it goes something just like this. His heads on the saddle, he’s laying on the ground, just gazing at the star lit sky. It’s brighter this night at least it seems that way, he saw a cowboy on a comet go by. He’ll say the prayer that the cowboys say just before going to sleep and thank the good Lord for the cowboys life with his boots still on his feet.
Chorus:
Tonight’s the cowboys Christmas, he’ll see things we’ll never see,
Santa can’t hide from the cowboy out on the open prairie.
Tonight’s the cowboys Christmas, he’ll see things we’ll never see,
Santa can’t hide from the Cowboy out of the open prairie.
Something is different, he can feel it in the air, it’s peaceful he admits. But he listens in the distance, “…is that a jingle” I hear “…and a jangle and a light that’s lit…” Oh this is weird what can that be, he hasn’t seen anything like that before. Trees on heads of the horses in front there has to be at least eight or more.
Chorus:
What’s the poll cat wearing, not Stetson I’ve seen, looks like a sissy cap to me. And what’s with this outfit with red and white trim and where could the spurs be. It passed by so quickly never touching the ground, faster than anything he’d ever seen. Where it was headed he hadn’t a clue, maybe a barn dance or something.
Chorus:
Tonight’s the cowboys Christmas, he’ll see things we’ll never see,
Santa can’t hide from the cowboy out on the open prairie.
But tonight on the cowboys Christmas there’s something he didn’t see.
Santa had circled around in the sky before he say you and me.
The Cowboy was tired from the long day’s work and fell asleep when Santa was gone not noticing that Santa had left something behind for the Cowboy on Christmas morn. When he awoke at the crack of dawn there were presents on the ground, they were neatly stacked for the cowboy to see, there was something else that he had found.
Chorus:
Tonight’s the cowboys Christmas, he’ll see things we’ll never see,
Santa can’t hide from the cowboy out on the open prairie.
Tonight’s the cowboys Christmas, while the cowboy was asleep.
Santa surprised the Cowboy and left the sissy cap for him to keep.

Love For The Moment
by Jeff Gustafson
© Copyright 1998 Jeff Gustafson. All rights reserved.
When you love, love for the moment before he sails with your heart,
sails on to the oceans of life, miles apart.
Hold her hand warm and tender, tell her things she wants to hear
that your love is for the evening, that you’ll always be there.
Chorus:
Love for the moment Love for the moment
Love for the moment Love for the moment
We never know how things will end up, too many stories have been told
Of loves, lost forever and the ones that turned to gold.
So take this time, and trust in the moment, give everything you can
And don’t think about tomorrow; just give this one love a chance.
Chorus:
Love for the moment Love for the moment
Love for the moment Love for the moment
Interlude:
Chorus:
Love for the moment Love for the moment
Love for the moment Love for the moment

Empty Words and Empty Kisses
by Jeff Gustafson
© Copyright 2004 Jeff Gustafson. All rights reserved.
This is the story of a pretty little girl
Who lived in the country with her father.
She was innocent with freckles on her nose
And a smile with dimples at each corner
Did you know that
She was only 10 when her mother went away
To find herself with another
She could not understand why she couldn’t go
When her mother said “baby I love you”
Those empty words and empty kisses
Don’t fill the voids and misses
Times lost forever never to return
She said, empty words and empty kisses
Don’t fill the voids and misses
Why couldn’t mommy stay?
Well that poor little girl grew up and became
An intelligent, beautiful lady
She could turn every head when she walked into the room
But deep down inside she was hurting
Those empty words and empty kisses
Don’t fill the voids and misses
Times lost forever never to return
She said, empty words and empty kisses
Don’t fill the voids and misses
Why didn’t mommy stay
She went on to get married and have children of her own
She still felt close to her father
But she could not forget what happened at 10
And she swore to never, never leave her children
Cause empty words and empty kisses
Won’t fill the voids and misses
Those times lost forever will never return
She said, empty words and empty kisses
Won’t fill the voids and misses
Mommy’s, mommy’s here to stay.
Cause empty words and empty kisses
Won’t fill the voids and misses
Those times lost forever will never return
She said, empty words and empty kisses
Won’t fill the voids and misses
Mommy’s, mommy’s here to stay.

Say Goodbye to me darlin’
by Jeff Gustafson
© Copyright 2004 Jeff Gustafson. All rights reserved.
There is no tomorrow for you and me
We’ve said our last goodbyes
I know I’ll always miss you
You will see that in my eyes
I know we gave it everything
But it’s just not right this time
And although I loved you darlin
You weren’t meant to be mine.
Chorus:
Say goodbye to me darlin’
I wish you all the best
And I hope you find someone
That’ll give you happiness
I wanted things to work for us
Everything seemed so right
But I know now just as you do
There’s no day beyond tonight
Chorus:
Instrumental
It’s sad to think it’s all over
But I know that it’s true
So I’ll walk away slowly
With that last thought of you
